 2- اختصار أسماء الأماكن مثل:

3-   اختصار الأعداد الترتيبية مثل:

 5 - اختصار أيام الأسبوع وأشهر السنة مثل:

 6 - بعض الاختصارات الخاصة تعود إلى اللغة اليونانية مثل:

 7 -بعض الاختصارات الأخرى مثل:

2- Common Symbols: بعض الرموز

1-    #  =  number ( American only ) بمعنى رقم كذا

2-    $  =  American dollar علامة الدولار الأمريكي

3-    ₤  =  Sterling Pound علامة الجنيه الإسترليني

4-    %  =  percent علامة النسبة المئوية

5-    &  =  and بمعنى "و"

6-    °C  =  degrees centigrade علامة الدرجة المئوية

7-    °F  =  degrees Fahrenheit. علامة الدرجة الفهرنهايتية

Some and Any

نستخدم some  في الجمل المثبتة مثل:

I have some books.

ونستخدم any  في الجمل المنفية أو الإستفهام مثل:

He has not any money?

Have you got any car?

وتأتيان مع بعض الكلمات فتصبحان كلمة واحدة. وإليك الجدول:

* نستطيع أن نستخدم some ومشتقاتها في الاستفهام في حالة واحدة وهي حينما نتوقع الإجابة تكون بالإثبات yes  مثل:

فهنا يتوقع المذيع أو المراسل الاجابة  Yes .
