Contesting a report drawn up to you by an SNCF controller, you go to the SNCF mediator
You were caught breaking the train and a ticket inspector drew up a report. Believing that you were wrongly fined, you contested this report within the time limit (see letter "You are contesting a report which was drawn up to you in public transport"). But your request for a rebate has been rejected or, another hypothesis, the SNCF has not replied to you.
You still have an amicable remedy: you can contact the SNCF mediator by mail or by Internet by filling out the form: www.sncf.com/mediateur .
Do not delay: the mediator can only act if he has been contacted within two months of the minutes. After this period, the file will be sent to the public prosecutor, then to the local judge.
Mr SNCF Mediator
45, rue de Londres - 75008 Paris
Mr. Mediator,
I take the liberty of asking for your mediation in the dispute between me and the SNCF.
The facts are as follows:
On (date), while I was traveling from (departure station) to (arrival station), a ticket inspector issued an infringement report against me on the grounds that (my ticket was not valid on this train, my ticket had not been composted, I was not in possession of my reduction card…).
On (date), I opposed this report to the SNCF, to explain the circumstances in which I had found myself in breach. You will find attached a copy of this letter.
(1st case) But the SNCF refuses to exempt me from paying the fine (letter attached).
(2nd case) However, to date I have not received a response.
That is why I ask you to kindly examine my file.
I thank you in advance for your intervention in the resolution of this dispute and ask you to accept, Mr. Mediator, the expression of my best regards.
