You terminate your contract following the sale of your vehicle
You have just sold your car and you do not intend to replace it, or you want to take the opportunity to change insurer. You can terminate your insurance contract before its main expiry date. In this case, the insurer must reimburse you for the portion of the premium beyond the date of termination of your contract.
After the sale of your vehicle:
the contract is automatically suspended the day after the sale at midnight. But be careful: if nothing is done by either party, the contract will end after the expiration of a period of six months from the sale;
if you want to terminate your contract, you must inform your insurer by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt. The termination will take effect ten days after sending your letter.
