visit in Al-Hasa Al Hofuf
Saudi Arabia
Al-Hofuf
While we were in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, my friend Jack
and I were looking forward (1) visiting Al-Hofuf in the
Al-Ahsa oasis, which is the largest oasis not just in Saudi Arabia, but
also in Asia. After that, we would visit the Al-Qara mountains, which
are enormous rock formations with caves you can walk in! We got up
at 6 o’clock with the intention of travelling to Al-Ahsa from the city of
Dammam, but (2) was a problem with our transport,
which led to a delay. Two hours later, we reached the Al-Hofuf train
station, from where we (3) a taxi to our hotel. We felt a
sense of relief upon reaching our accommodation as it was very hot and
we really needed to get out of the heat. Feeling hungry after
(4) many hours without food, we went to a nearby
traditional restaurant (5) we had a wonderful meal
consisting (6) rice and spicy lamb followed by delicious
watermelon and tea. Afterwards, we decided to visit the 16th century
castle Qasr Ibrahim in the centre of the city. It turned (7)
that this archaeological site was an exceptional place with great history
and breathtaking size: Qasr Ibrahim stretches over 16,500 m2.
Located in an oasis in the heart of the country, Al-Hofuf is undoubtedly worth visiting (8) only for its
historic value but also for (9) beauty. This experience left me curious about the interesting sites we
(10) going to visit the next day.

1. HELP SOLVE A PROBLEM
Situation:
I am your friend, and I have a problem. Try to find out what
my problem is, and offer me some good advice.
First:
Look at the pictures below and ask me questions:
Who the person is:
my brother, nephew, cousin, colleague who wears glasses
What the problem is:
He has bad eyesight and doesn’t want to have to wear glasses.
What the options are:
(laser eye surgery)
He can have laser eye surgery to get his vision corrected.
It’s a fast (about 10 mins), painless procedure with a quick
recovery. However, not all eyesight problems can be cured
with laser eye surgery and results may vary from patient to
patient. It is also quite expensive.
(get contact lenses)
He can start wearing contact lenses. Contact lenses move
with your eye and have no frames to obstruct vision. You
can also change your eye colour with coloured contact
lenses. However, it isn’t easy for all people to put on contact
lenses and some people may not find them comfortable.
There is high risk of eye infection if contact lenses are not
cleaned with appropriate solution and stored properly.
