When moving, you ask what the conditions are to insure your new home

When you move into a new apartment, you have the option of terminating the contract covering the residence you are leaving (see letter "You terminate your comprehensive home contract before it expires"), but you can also stay with the same insurer.

Be aware that the insurance conditions of your new accommodation will not necessarily be identical to those of the accommodation you are leaving, particularly in terms of pricing. In fact, the amount to be paid depends on the accommodation to be insured (surface area, location, etc.).

In addition, your insurer is not systematically required to maintain the contract for the new accommodation (article L. 113-16 of the Insurance Code). In such a case, inform your insurer of your change of situation and inquire about the consequences of this change before any modification of the contract.

Please note: if, for a period of time, you occupy both apartments, do not forget to insure them both.

Dear,

I currently occupy a home insured with your company under number (reference of the insurance contract).

I will leave this accommodation on (date of end of lease or sale) and will move into a new accommodation on (date of start of lease or purchase).

(Describe the accommodation: address, surface area, type, floor, value of furniture, garage, etc.)

Thank you for indicating to me the insurance conditions for this new accommodation before making any changes to the contract.

Pending your response, please accept, Madam, Sir, the expression of my best regards.
