You regularize an NSF check rejected by your bank

You issued a bad check. Before rejecting it, the bank must inform you by any appropriate means of the consequences of the default. Once informed, if you do not fund your account, your banker sends you a letter of injunction by registered mail, in which he asks you not to issue any more checks and to return those in your possession. You then find yourself under a banking ban, for a maximum of five years. This prohibition is general and applies to all of your accounts, even those held in other banks.

As soon as you have regularized, quickly contact your bank, so that they inform the Banque de France to allow the lifting of the banking ban.

You will have to pay bank charges. These are regulated and capped at:

- 30 euros per check for rejected checks for an amount less than or equal to 50 euros;

- 50 euros for rejected checks for an amount greater than 50 euros.
